In an exciting new collaboration, YourAnastomosis and Vector NL, the largest student-led organisation in the Netherlands focused on cardiovascular surgery, join forces to deliver a full-day (7–9 hours) cardiothoracic surgery training experience. This unique partnership bridges innovation in surgical education with a motivated student community passionate about excellence in cardiovascular care.

The course offers a comprehensive bootcamp format with multiple simulation-based workstations covering conventional and minimally invasive techniques. Participants receive detailed performance scoring, objective feedback, and tailored improvement strategies. This event marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration focused on personalised, proficiency-based learning where real-life surgical challenges are simulated, discussed, and deconstructed in a clinical yet student-friendly environment.

Two parallel training environments run throughout the day:

Each session offers hands-on learning with expert guidance.
9:30–11:00: CABG-focused anastomosis training with expert tips and performance review.
12:00–13:30: Advanced CABG/ONCAB/OPCAB/MIDCAB simulation and scoring-based feedback.
14:30–16:00: Aortic valve procedure workshop—open and minimally invasive AVR training.

In one room, students explore a sandbox of simulators for free practice in coronary, aortic, and minimally invasive techniques.

Throughout the day, participants have open access to training stations featuring home kits, cardiovascular tasks, and procedure-specific simulations. Multiple suturing levels and free practice options support continuous, self-directed learning alongside the structured workshops.
